MHS is offering a 7 on 7 football camp for 7th-8th Grade Students.
Over this weekend we had lots of hard fought matches, and we are proud of all the middle school wrestlers that competed! A big congratulations goes out to Austin W, Harrison R, and Xavier SH for their hard fought matches yesterday, and making it to day two of state! Austin W and Harrison R both finished within the top 12. We would also like to give a big congratulations to Xavier SH for getting second place this weekend, and fighting hard to the last second!

Lots of hard fighting was done over the weekend by the MMS Wresting Team! We are proud of every wrestler and how much they have grown throughout the season.
Overall as a team we took 9th place out of 22 teams! Individually is as follows:
Xavier SH - 3rd Place (State Qualifier)
Austin W - 3rd Place (State Qualifier)
Harrison R - 3rd Place (State Qualifier)
Cam C - 1st Place (State Qualifier)
Overall we have 4 wrestlers from the middle school advancing to state next weekend in DeKalb IL. We also have 3 wrestlers moving onto state in the club series! Congratulations to Dallyn B, Shayla G, and Emma G!
MMS Bowling had a successful day in Carterville! The girls took 1st place and the boys 2nd! Individually for the girls, Riley Poggi placed 5th, Brinley West placed 3rd, and Chayse Rutledge placed 1st. For the boys, Carter Riesenberger placed 1st!!! So proud of these kids!

Members of the MMS Environmental Club did some planting for the Spring, processed the recycling items for the building, voted on a student created club logo, and discussed plans for some outdoor gardening. Productive meeting as always!

On Sunday students from MMS were able to hear Mr. Ashton Farrell speak on the connection between Ulysses S. Grant and Illinois. Mr. Farrell is a Curator at Grant’s Farm in St. Louis. After learning about Grant’s connections to Illinois, students had the opportunity to enjoy the museum and ask questions.

MMS bowlers participated in the Jr. Kegler Tournament at St. Clair Bowl on Saturday.
The Varsity girls team won the Championship (Gold Division) as the JV girls team placed 1st (Silver Division). Brinley West placed 1st and Sophia Walter placed 5th for for high numbers of pins. Chayse Rutledge was 1st for high game and Lauren Hill was 2nd for high game. Juliet Richardson received 1st for individual high score and Alanna Johnston was 5th in the JV girl’s series. Garrett Ross received 5th in All Tournament Team.

6th grade MMS students from Team Echo and Team Sierra took part in Yoga Day after studying Ancient India in Social Studies for the past few weeks. The students did well trying what they could with the basics of Yoga to focus on balance, breathing, and various beneficial stretching motions.
Congratulations to MMS basketball players, Caleb Gibbs, Nate PIerce and Tagen Jonsson for receiving the Sportsmanship Award in the postseason games.
