Construction is moving along!
January 2019 February 2019
Engaging every student...every day!
Dear Parents / Guardians,
Thank you for such a wonderful year! There could not be a better school or community to come to as a new Principal. This has been an exciting year from various championships: Bowling, Track, Volleyball to name a few. We have also had stellar Band concerts and Chorus concerts as well that truly moved audiences. We have been working on changes for next year hiring eight new math teachers, two new Special Ed teachers, a new RTI teacher and an additional Assistant Principal. Next year math will be in blocks, similar to what we have done with ELA for 7th and 8th. Students will get a full 88 minutes of math instruction which, the time combined with our new Open Up math curriculum and quality instruction should increase performance and raise scores. We also have had construction, construction and more construction. When we come back in August we will have two new Science Labs, four additional classrooms, remodeled locker rooms, and we will have a new office area and entrance to enhance security at our building.
Through a strong cooperation between home and school, with highly qualified and caring teachers, our students have grown by leaps and bounds.
Mr. Paolo Dulcamara
A Couple of Days that Stick Out this Month and following
On May 23rd, we had our 8th grade promotion at 10 AM; no one passed out from the heat! We will look at some alternatives for next year to not be so crowded or be so hot. May 24th, today, is our LAST DAY for students; we had a great 6th/7th grade Field Day and the 8th grade had a very fun trip as well.
School Office will be closed on May 27th for Memorial Day. Lastly, teachers will be at school on May 28th for a professional ½ day.
Major construction should be complete by July 19th. All construction should be complete by Aug 2nd.
During the summer, starting June 3, the Office will move to door 15. It is on the same south side of the building as the current Office but it is is further to the east. We will have signs up and we apologize for any inconvenience in advance.
Registration will be July 30th and 31st. First day of school is Aug 14th and it will be a ½ day. Other than that I think it is fair to say, enjoy the summer.
We are fortunate to be expanding our math program to facilitate an expansion of “quality learning opportunities.”

New Student Handbook
Feel free this summer to go online to see our new Student Handbook. We have made a few changes to improve our school environment. All rules are in place for at least one of the following reasons: Safety and Security, Academic Excellence, of Good Order and Discipline. It is not up yet but will be prior to our new school year.
Students - have a good summer
Please keep in mind that I am open to and support the idea of a PTO at our Middle School. If you are interested and wish to approach me with some like-minded parents, please do not hesitate to contact me here at the school.
It has been a great year. Please have a good summer. Take time to read but also take time to relax and enjoy your break. Please help you folks out with chores around the house. You might be off for the summer but your caregiver might have to work. Do not double their workload by failing to clean up after yourself. Have a great summer and we will see all coming back at registration.
